Sweetheart tables have become one of my most favorite "details" for my wedding couples. Some may disagree that having a private table for two sends guests a message of "do not disturb". Another opinion may be that the couple is made to feel like they are sitting in front of everyone awkwardly. After a full day of getting ready for the walk down the aisle, going through the ceremony and then taking photographs after the ceremony, the couple "still" has to be introduced and dance their first dance. By the time the Mr. & Mrs. "finally" get to the point of getting to sit down and eat, what's wrong with a little bit of privacy?
I LOVE to spoil my couples when they get to the "Sweetheart Table" part of the evening! While they are dancing their first dance, I'm off to plate their meal so that it's sitting at their seat when they get off the dance floor. This is the moment of "whew, we did it" for the happy newlyweds. Normally the wedding party and family are sitting nearby, so the couple aren't necessarily "alone", just a little more intimate.
A lot of time and detail go into the décor I choose for each Sweetheart table. I consider the backdrop, the type of seating, the table, linens, dinnerware and of course the table décor! When the couple finally reaches the moment of sitting at their table, I want them to feel like royalty! After all, it's their day and they deserve it!
